On April 14th, 2018, the Nebraska Delta chapter of Sigma Phi Epsilon at Creighton University will be hosting its 28th annual “Run With A Heart” philanthropy event. This year we are putting on a 5k run as well as a 2k Fun Run/Walk with all proceeds being donated to Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Midlands.

Here is a statement from Big Brothers Big Sisters: “Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Midlands provides children facing adversity with strong and enduring, professionally supported one-to-one relationships that change their lives for the better, forever. For the past two years, we have developed an outstanding partnership with the men of Creighton University’s Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity. Currently, over 40 members of their house are Big Brothers in our program and 94% have reached their one year anniversary with their Little Brother. The funds raised from their annual Run with a Heart philanthropy event will go directly into our local program and will help us recruit, screen, train and support new Big Brothers, Big Sisters and Big Couples to match with the 100 kids we currently have on our waiting list” (BBBSM, 2017). This organization is very near and dear to the brothers of Sigma Phi Epsilon and we are excited to host this event for their benefit.

Sigma Phi Epsilon is proud to be organizing this run and would greatly appreciate the support of our large community. Throughout the last 27 years, this event has continued to be successful. Last year in 2017 we raised over $8,000 for Big Brothers Big Sisters, more than double the year’s prior. Because of our tradition of success, we have set a fundraising goal of $15,000 for this year’s run alone. This fraternity has made a commitment to this organization and we would welcome your help in continuing our tradition of excellence and success. The date for the run is Saturday, April 14th 2018, and the run will start at Miller’s Landing Park, 1155 Gallup Drive, Omaha, NE 68110.
