Step into Running

ORC's Beginning Training Program for Women

Step into Running is an 11-week group training program for women and girls sponsored by the Omaha Running Club. The program targets beginners or those looking for group support. Group support and encouragement during the training help participants increase their fitness levels and prepare for the Go Girl Run 5K on Labor Day.

VIRTUAL ORIENTATION:  Orientation will be held via a Zoom meeting on Tuesday, June 7th at 6:00pm.  You will receive an email with a link to join the orientation meeting once registered.

Details:  An overview of the program will be provided, payment will be collected (you can pay by cash, check or credit card), followed by a 1 mile time trial on the Keystone Trail.  The time trial will be used to determine your pace group.

Please note that this year's program will be capped at 30 participants.

Training sessions last 45-60 minutes.  They include a warm up walk, 30 minutes of training, cool down walk and stretching.  There will be two-three virtual training sessions that feature guest speakers who will share fitness and running tips virtually via Zoom. Topics will be shared with participants the week before.

Online registration opens Sunday, April 11.  Just click the "get me registered" button above once it's posted.  Online pre-registration is required and payment is due BEFORE the first training session on June 8th.  Payment is not collected during the online registration process.  Registration fee must be made by cash, check or credit card by June 8.  Payments are nonrefundable and nontransferable.

Attend 10 of the 12 sessions and you'll earn a special reward.

Cost: $30 non ORC members (cost includes a 1 year ORC membership)
$ 5 for ORC members who have renewed or began their 2021 membership before May 10, 2021.
