Grand Island PFLAG has spent the last 5 years providing support for and education about LGBTQ individuals in our community. PFLAG does many great things in the Grand Island Community. We host LGBTQ related films. We write letters to state and national government officials in support or opposition of upcoming legislative bills. We support Grand Island PRIDE. We provide visibility for the LGBTQ community of Grand Island by marching in the Harvest of Harmony parade and taking part in local events. We collaborate with local business and agencies to provide services for LGBTQ individuals. And we provide a safe space for LGBTQ individuals, their family, and friends, to be themselves, to be heard, to be recognized, to be celebrated.

Who are we?

PFLAG is a National organization that was founded in 1972. There are more than 500 chapters nation wide who provide support, education, and advocacy. PFLAG Grand Island goals and visions include; hosting LGBTQ informational movies, speakers, and presentations, open to the public, Supplying the public library and school libraries with LGBTQ related books. Implementing support groups for LGBTQ indivuduals and their families. Providing quarterly social activities in safe spaces, and more letter writing campaigns to local and state government in support of LGBTQ related legislation.

Course

We will begin at the Grand Island Community field house, and take a scenic run through the neighbor hood to beautiful Pier Park. A loop around the park and back through the neighborhood to the finish line. A very fast and very flat course.
