Course change required due to Sanitary Sewer cave in.  Due to the need to perform emergency repair on a caved in sanitary sewer on Dodge Steet the City of Omaha closed the trail at Cass Street to Nebraska Furniture Mart.  The trail is intended to be fully blocked by the work within the next two weeks as it is necessary for bypassing pumping of the raw sewage.  The sewer is 3 feet in diameter and greater than 20 feet deep.  The repair will require pumping raw sewage around the work area and is estimated to take up to 5 months to repair as posted by the City of Omaha.  The proposed detour crossing Dodge Street (which is a State Highway) does not allow the race to safely cross and use the course as originally planned.

We explored multiple options before needing to select the following

course:  The course will start on the trail at Peak Performance at

78th and Cass Street and be 3 miles out to the north to Democracy

Park, TA,  2 miles back,  TA , two miles returning to Democracy Park, TA, three miles back to finish.

We will have aid stations at mile 1,5,9 and mile 3,7 which are also

the Turn-a-Rounds.

We will have refreshments and pizza at Peak Performance at the

completion of the race.

The 10 mile race will start at 7:30 am sharp and is open to runners of

all abilities who can finish in three hours.

Entry fee includes a finisher medal, race shirt and post race

refreshments!
