About the event

The Skyline Ranches Cross Country Run is a cross country run/walk on the beautiful, private horse trails of the Skyline Ranches neighborhood just south of Elkhorn NE. This run has had many changes over the years, but some things have stayed the same… including the original mission in 2012 to raise money and awareness for the Heartland Equine Therapeutic Riding Academy (HETRA) – www.hetra.org and St. Augustine Kids program – www.sainta.net.

Since 2012 there have been 850 participants who have helped raise over $16,000 for the two organizations.

Description

The 7th annual Skyline Ranches Cross Country Run is a G.O.A.Tz run!

Featuring individual 5k/10k,1/2 Marathon, and team 5k/10k, and 1/2 Marthon.

There are also two kids runs of .3 miles and .6 miles and a one mile walk for the family.

Location: Skyline Ranches Park – Omaha, NE

Start Times: 8:15am – 1/2 Marathon, 8:25am – 5k/10, 10:30 Kids Run and Walk

Registration Opens Saturday April 1st (12:00am)

Registration Closes Thursday Oct. 25th, (12:00am) and only reopen day of run if there is room.

The 5k/10k are single loops and the 1/2 marathon is 2 loops over wide well maintained cross country trails. The kids runs and walk are around a beautiful pond!

We Run So They Can RIDE!

Starting in 2018, runners can raise money and/or awareness for a HETRA participant. It is simple to help raise awareness or money. We will provide each runner with a link to a HETRA participants “DRIVE TO RIDE” campaign in early September, and while you train, we ask that you share your training success and the participants “DRIVE TO RIDE” page. By helping the HETRA participant raise money and/or awareness we are helping all the HETRA participants ride throughout the year.

The Course

Skyline Ranches trails are mainly grassy and run through both beautiful forested areas and magnificent horse ranches. There are very challenging hills and fast flats. The trail is wide enough to accommodate many runners at the same time and very well marked to ensure no one gets lost.

Goodies for all Runners

All runners who registered before Oct. 13th get a poly (dri-fit) shirt guaranteed to fit.
All runners in the 5k/10k and 1/2 Marathon get chip timing (kids runs are clock timed)
All distances (including kids) get custom finisher award f
All runners and spectators can enjoy the post-race food and drink
Fun things for kids, including miniature horses, inflatables and games.

Team Competition

New for 2018 is our Team Competition Category! Your team’s combined average time will determine who wins the team competition…

Three categories – Men’s, Women’s and CoEd. CoEd has to have exactly 3 women and 3 men.

Packet Pick-up

10/26/18 – 4 pm-7 pm – Pick up your packet at the HETRA barn and go “trick-or-treating” to the horses of HETRA during the Stall-n-Treat event in the barn. (10130 S 222nd St, Gretna, NE 68028)

10/27/18 – 7:30-8:15am at the Skyline Ranches Park Pavilion.
