The Heat the Streets Run & Walk for Warmth is a timed 5K and untimed, family-friendly one-mile walk.

Proceeds from the event benefit local utility assistance programs to help seniors, people with disabilities and low-income families pay their utility bills.

The 5K will begin at 9 a.m. with the walk to immediately follow.

Early packet pick-up will be Friday, March 1 from 12-7 p.m. at Backwoods (2289 S 67th St.). Race day check-in will be from 7-8:30 a.m. in Stinson Park.

Awards will be given to the overall top male and female 5K finishers, as well as 1st, 2nd and 3rd place for male and female in each age division (12 and under, 13-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60 ).

All registered participants will receive a runner buff. Coffee and hot chocolate will be available, courtesy of The Salvation Army.
