This is the first annual Be Brave 5k for Special Olympics Nebraska.  This event will include a 5k, one-mile fun run, and a costume contest for runners.  The event is open to all runners, walkers, and joggers of all ability levels.  The path is wheelchair accessible but does involve some hills.  There will be shirts for everyone who registers by October 1^st.  Everyone who participates will get a finishers medal as well as a donut and other food and refreshments at the finish line.  After the race there will be awards given to race finishers as well as best costume by our Special Olympics Nebraska Celebrity Panel of judges.  Proceeds from this event go to Special Olympics programs in the Omaha area, providing sports and competition to individuals with and without intellectual disabilities.
