NOTE TO RUNNERS: 5K The Hard Way has made the incredibly difficult decision to postpone our event on October 17, 2020. The 2021 event will take place on Saturday, June 26th. We are reaching out to you to let you know that your registration(s) will be automatically transferred to June 26th, 2021. No action is required on your part and you will continue to receive updated emails in the months leading up to the mud run. We can also facilitate no-cost transfers to a different runner, friend or family member at no-cost.

5K The Hard Way, located in Fremont, is featured in “The Runner’s Bucket List.” This book chronicles the world’s greatest (and most unique) running adventures!

Participants wind through rugged forest country and a vineyard. There are creek crossings and daring suspension bridges. You will sprint across balance beams, scale climbing walls, navigate up and down steep bluffs and run up and over the Magic Bus. And then you will encounter our infamous 100 foot water slide! 5k The Hard Way will test your strength, agility, stamina and mind.

We have several water stations along the route (including the Jungle Bar at the bottom of the waterslide) and there is fruit and water at the finish line. We have rinsing stations next to the parking area. A live DJ, food vendor and beer garden await you at the finish line.

All participants receive a finisher’s medal, a “Hard Way” t-shirt, fruit, water and a gift card for two free rounds of golf (the golf cards are valued at $42 and they are transferable so you can give them to friends or family if you can’t use them).

Military members (past or present) run for just $35.00, and kids 14 and under run for just $30.00.

There is no cover charge for spectators and we offer free parking.
