The 10^th Greater Omaha Chapter (GOC) of AFCEA Steps for STEM 5K is designed to be an uplifting, family-oriented, community event, benefiting the GOC’s STEM Scholarship and Grant Funds.  Our chapter has about 250 members and serves the Greater Omaha Metropolitan Area to include Offutt Air Force Base and part of Western Iowa.  This race will be timed by Precision Race Results.  For more information, please visit omaha.afceachapters.org/.

Join us, participants and spectators alike, on this promising May morning to take part in this run/walk!  All events will take place at scenic Walnut Creek Park in Papillion Nebraska with both the start and finish lines just off the circle on Gold Coast Road.

This will be the 10^th anniversary of our Steps for STEM 5K.  This is a special event for us.  Please come out in force to participate.  The first 100 to check-in starting at 0730 will receive custom “Steps for STEM 5K” water bottles, so please plan to check in early!

The Forge Ahead 5K, a powerful event dedicated to supporting mental wellness and resilience in our community.  Whether you are an experienced runner or just looking for a fun way to get moving, this 5K is for You!

Proceeds benefit programs supporting mental health and PTSD recovery for active military, veterans and their families.

Registration starts at 8:00 am and the race starts at 9:00 am on Saturday, June 7th, 2025 at Walnut Creek Lake & Recreation Area.

Lace up your shoes and join us for the At Ease USA Forge Ahead 5K, a community event honoring those who serve and supporting the mental health and wellness of our military members, veterans, and their families.

Whether you’re a seasoned runner, casual jogger, or family walker, this 5K welcomes participants of all ages and fitness levels. The course will be lined with inspiring tribute signs honoring service members past and present, creating a meaningful and patriotic race-day experience.

Proceeds from the event directly support At Ease USA’s programs, including confidential counseling, peer support services, and wellness initiatives for military and veteran families in our community.
